Tyler Scheid (pronounced Shyde), also known by his online alias Apocalypto12, is an online entertainer and a close friend of Mark Fischbach. He has appeared in several of Mark's videos, the earliest ones being charity livestreams and the Spore playthrough, and was a core member of Mark's You're Welcome tour. In 2016, he moved to Los Angeles to work alongside Mark and Ethan Nestor-Darling, later becoming a full-time Twitch streamer and a YouTube content creator. Since 2022, he and Mark have co-hosted the podcast Go! My Favorite Sports Team. Scheid's life motto is "smile always," which was also adapted as part of his brand and merchandizing.

Early life

Tyler was born on January 25, 1989 in Milford, a suburb of Cincinnati, Ohio. He first met Mark on their school's wrestling team in either the third or fourth grade. He later met Bob and Wade along the way via the public school system. In high school, Tyler wrestled with Mark and played water polo, winning a state championship at one point, but ultimately gave it up due to kidney failure. At the age of 20, Tyler's older brother donated one of his kidneys in order to save his life.^{[citation needed]} The transplant has left him immunocompromised for which he has to take regular medication.

Career

In early 2016, Tyler moved out to Los Angeles to work alongside Mark, appearing in many of Fischbach's videos and series, such as Markiplier Makes and Who Killed Markiplier?, and was a member of Mark's You're Welcome tour, later becoming a full-time Twitch streamer and a YouTube content creator.

On February 3, 2022, Tyler and Mark launched a collaborative weekly sports podcast Go! My Favorite Sports Team.

Personal life

Tyler majors in Sports Administration, having received his Bachelor's degree from Wilmington University and his Masters degree from the University of Northern Colorado.

Tyler is an ambassador for Extra Life, an organization that helps raise money for children with health problems.

In August of 2018, Tyler announced that his mother had been diagnosed with stage 4-B cancer. In his video, "It's About Time I Told You...," he shaved his head in solidarity with her. On June 29, 2019 in "Some bad news" vlog, Mark noted that Tyler's mother had passed away a month prior.

• In his early appearances on Markiplier's channel, Tyler was jokingly referred to as "One-word Tyler" or "Stoneface Tyler," due to his laidback persona and short responses.
• While working for Markiplier, Tyler's official title, as given by Mark, was "Third Tsar of Research and Development at Markiplier Inc."
