"Try Not To Laugh Challenge #2" is the 2nd episode of Try Not To Laugh Challenge presented by Markiplier.
Description
You Laugh, You Lose! Try not to laugh at MORE funny videos!
Initial takedown[]
On August 28, 2020, a YouTuber that goes by the name of Penguinz0, also known as Moistcr1tikal, had his "Road Rager Learns A Hard Lesson" video taken down for showcasing a comically staged dashcam footage of a group of people dressed up as cartoon mascots hijacking a man's vehicle. This takedown was later reinforced by YouTube's staff members, after claiming to have manually reviewed Penguinz0's appeal.[1]
On September 1, 2020, Penguinz0 pointed out on Twitter that Mark's "Try Not To Laugh Challenge #2" video has the exact same clip, yet was not taken down, albeit in a joking manner to highlight YouTube's double standards. Mark even welcomed this post, replying with "fair is fair" before receiving a warning on the aforementioned video only a few hours later.[2]
Mark discussed this situation in depth, stating that he holds no grudge against Penguinz0 for highlighting his video and that he wants for YouTube to re-evaluate their stance on the matter.[3] On September 2, 2020, YouTube reinstated their removed videos and revoked both channels' strikes, later apologizing to all associated parties for this inconvenience on Twitter.[4]
