Reading Your Comments is a Vlog-style spinoff series originally created by fellow YouTuber and friend JackSepticEye, who upon being asked by Markiplier at a convention they were both attending - making notable mention of Sean's trademark series - what he could do on his channel that would enable him to engage with his fanbase in a similar manner, greatly encouraged Mark to simply make the exact same series on his own channel; jokingly quoting Shia Labeof's catchphrase "JUST DO IT!" as a dismissal of Mark's hesitation on the grounds of fearing that he might be accused of plagiarism by other fandoms.

As the title suggests, the series involves a YouTuber scrolling through the comment section from several of their past videos and randomly choosing a number of individual comments to be featured in the video and subsequently answering/replying to them, the content of such comments (and therefore the nature and tone of the YouTuber's responses) mostly depending on the theme of that particular episode. For instance, the YouTuber in question may announce a "Hater Special", where they go to the effort of actively seeking out comments that are intended to insult/troll them. Though these Vlog episodes are typically comedic and fast-paced in nature, the host may occasionally feature more serious posts and take time to respectively give a longer and more in-depth answer. In the case of an aforementioned Hate Special, the YouTuber may alternatively retain a consistently comedic approach toward the more witty and jokingly insulting comments, then change to a more serious tone at the end of the video to either point out issues that he/she has with comments they themselves found substantially more hurtful or more broadly address the problem of negative comments in general, which will often prove to simultaneously be uplifting to some who happened to be victims of such hateful responses and much to the annoyance of viewers who watched the video purely for the entertainment. Although Reading Your Comments is primarily focused on responding to the comment section of YouTube, some Specials, rather than having a particular theme around the comments themselves, may instead simply focus on comments from one of the YouTuber's alternate social media pages (E.G. Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Reddit and so on) rather than just from their respective main channel.

Notable impacts made on the channel[]

The first episode in the series, "START OF SOMETHING GOOD", saw the creation of Markiplier's latest alter-ego: "Serious Grizzled Veteran Markiplier".
Mark is now able to more directly interact with his fandom.
In "MARK HAD A HEART ATTACK?!", Mark announced the conclusion of Drunk Minecraft series, due to his body's inability to properly process alcohol.
