- A number of Mark's personally crafted weapons were dubbed as puns or references:
- The first dagger was dubbed The Buttstabber.
- The second dagger was dubbed Jabberhurk after Lewis Carroll's Jabberwocky. The "hurk" is an onomatopoeia for thrusting the blade.
- Mark dubbed his first bow the Bow of Blam. Coincidentally, a weapon bearing similar name exists within the Dead Rising series.
- The second bow was dubbed Twang My Thang, referencing the string's elasticity. One of Terri Clark's songs is called Twang Thang.
- One of Mark's running gags is "Where's the Blacksmith?" phrase. When an in-game character refers to the player as the blacksmith, Mark jokingly replies that he had finally found him after his "long life soul searching journey."
