"Don't Open the Door" is a live action interactive video presented by Markiplier and edited by Lixian. The video was originally a part of Markiplier's Big Ass Bake Sale, a YouTube members fundraiser; However, Mark later decided to release it to his general audience.
Description
You hear a knock from your closet. A voice on the other side asks you to open the door...
Don't open the door...
Summary[]
The scene opens up to a still shot of a closed door leading to Mark's office closet. Mark can be heard from behind the door, deliberating with the viewer if they would like to help him open the door and let him into the room, all while reassuring them that there's nothing to be worried about, as well as promising them a consolation prize for their assistance.
From this point, the viewer can interact with the video's end screen templates and pick their own path to see where each of them leads. Deciding to open the door at any given point will result in a jump scare of Mark's edited face from one of his 3 Scary Games episodes, as well as a prompt for the viewer if they wish to start over. Refusing to open the door will lead to an endless loop of the same eight videos.
Flowchart[]
- Note: The table is read from top to bottom. Its left column represents the main flowchart, while the right column indicates alternative endings for each of them. After the eighth and final choice in the main flowchart, the video-embedded links will loop back to the starting video. For further details on each choice, see the Routes section.

Trivia[]
- The closet door of Mark's home office tends to open by itself due to a faulty hinge. As this would often happen during Mark's recording sessions and livestreams, it became a running gag within his community that his closet is either haunted or inhabited by a creature of folklore.
