Deletion Protocol[]

Why are there so many? The deletion protocols on the articles currently in this category are unnecessary! {[DATA_EXPUNGED]} (talk) 14:46, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

First of all, properly address the issue without exaggerating your statements with upper case letters and use headings for your subjects.

All of these are character articles that do not fit on the wiki that's supposed to be about Markiplier and his overarching media. All of these have its individual placements on other wikis, not on this one. If Mark has played a certain game, that does not ultimately mean he's somehow tied within it. Few exceptions would include FNaF and Slender articles, where he crafted additional content through parodies and sketch comedies.NewGenTV (talk) 15:49, April 15, 2016 (UTC)

I landed on this Markiplier wiki by searching "Amnesia Moose Man", returning the Servant Brute page, which is marked for deletion.

Why would this page be deleted? It serves its purpose of explaining a Markiplier-specific detail of a relatively iconic game he played. I could understand moving it to "Moose Man" but deleting it seems a bit odd.

There's a collective page of Mark's overall references and glossary terms. There's no need to have a separate article for the Grunt simply because Mark happened to mention it.NewGenTV (talk) 15:23, June 20, 2016 (UTC)

This character is what skyrocketed Mark's channel, which saved him from living a life of misery and a career path he didn't want to follow! If the page was just for the character that appeared in The Fall of Slender Man, I'd understand why people would want it deleted considering that he only appeared in that one video (to my knowledge, at least). But this is the icon that dominated the entirety of not only Mark's channel, but the internet for years! Sure, he's been pushed aside by other icons (namely our favorite animatronic bear that has a rotting corpse of a child inside it, Freddy Fazbear, among others), but he's still a part of what was once considered to be one of the best things the internet has ever developed. So, I think we should pay our respects to this former icon so that he doesn't get completely forgotten by the public. Gavyn03 (talk) 13:41, April 15, 2020 (UTC)

Your exaggerations aside regarding the "miserable life" he avoided, Mark's early YouTube career was heavily influenced by the rise of Let's Plays in general rather than this simple character that practically had no presence on the internet outside of Mark's main audience (if anything, Slender Man had a bigger impact on the channel than the Brute) and his overall style of comedy that attracted a wider audience. Furthermore, merely copy-pasting character bios off of other wikis and listing a one-note reference to Mark's jokes doesn't qualify them as stand-alone articles. Redirects are already in place and, as mentioned in the previous post, there are pages that list his references and jokes, both on reference lists and their respectable video game articles. Feel free to add the Moose Man to Mark's bio, Amnesia's trivia page and to episodes he's referenced, but only being nicknamed doesn't make a character separate from the game it came from. Nor I think Freddy was ever channel's icon. Amonimus (talk) 19:53, April 15, 2020 (UTC)
