Amnesia: The Attic is an Amnesia custom story played by Markiplier.

Game Information[]

Amnesia: The Attic is a custom story for the survival horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, which was created by the developer Everlost. Released in chapters between August 2011 and August 2012, it follows a new protagonist and an original storyline separate from the main game's plot. The custom story was praised for adding fresh content to the popular horror game, offering new challenges and scares for players.

Plot[]

The story centers on a young man named Derrek, who lives with his mother in a large manor. He has long been forbidden from entering the upper floors of the house, which belong to his father's workshop and the mysterious attic. His father has been missing for 16 years, supposedly serving his country by creating a special healing medicine. On the cusp of starting his own family, Derrek decides to confront his past and investigate his father's workshop and the forbidden attic to uncover the truth. He soon learns that his father's work was far more sinister than his mother led him to believe, revealing a horrific family secret that now threatens to tear him apart.

Trivia[]

The custom story is divided into three distinct chapters, each progressing the player further into the secrets of the manor. It is well-regarded within the Amnesia custom story community and is noted for its ability to deliver a compelling narrative within the game's engine. Like many custom stories, it required players to download the file from a site like ModDB and manually place it in the game's folders to play.
